creative spirituality

· How do you define “spirituality”?

Spirituality is something very necessary and attainable. Spirituality is knowing who you are at your core. What in life brings you consolation for the past, comfort for the present, and hope for the future. Your spirit is what drives you and guides you through life. Your spirit or soul is what makes people different from animals because the spirit enables a person to look inside himself and sort out all issues that inhibit growth of character and happiness.

· Does spirituality differ from religion?

There is a very strong difference between religion and spirituality. Religion in most cultures is a set of guidelines given to you by god that teaches everyone the importance of humility. I am a Christian and cannot speak for any other religion. To be a Christian a person has dedicated there life to god by learning to follow his example on how you live a good life. Faith always knows that no matter where you are there is a presence that keeps you accountable for you actions. Actions that may only affect yourself. The Ten Commandments that are banned from schools are not bad in any way. Yes there a separation of church and state, but this country was founded on religion and has played a big piece in creating the moral fabric that keeps out society together. Why would anyone object to a statement that containes,“Though shall not steal.”Spirituality is different because religion is a life style, where as spirituality is more a sense of self.

· How do you define “creativity”?

First there are many different forms of creativity and most all people have one of these forms. Creativity is the ability of a person to make something original. Original in a sense that whatever is created is unlike anything that has been previously seen. There are those that say that the ability to be creative is to not reveal your sources. There is some truth in that. Most everything speech wise has probably been said before is just takes time to circulate. I would like to say that I am creative. I enjoy finding new ways to deal with different personalities. Also I enjoy building things that are useful to my life that help me solve different types of complex problems. The other day I realized how I needed shelves so I went to the store and found that the prices where to expensive. So I found a way to build them myself. To me that is creativity.

· What is the source of creativity?

In my opinion the source of everyone’s creativity is personal advancement. An artist wants to create something to expand his talents. Artists rarely try to digress their talents. My own source of creativity is my ability to find everything interesting. There are very few subjects that do not interest me, especially science. I like to experiment in everything I do. That is where my own source of creativity comes from.

I really loved your incorporation of the ten commandments into your definition of religion. I completely agree with you when you talk about your opinion about the separation of church and state, and the effect that the "rules" of Christianity have had on our society. Do you think that religious people are spiritual? You seem you believe that spirituality is necessary in religion, but I just got a little confused when reading parts of this blog. Overall an awesome opinion though, I really enjoyed your standpoint on all of the questions.
